Luckily, my kids have the same energy level that I do. We love to dance (like no one's watching!). Curtis and Taylor are already HUGE fitness buffs, so we run, bike, swim, and play! We're also sports fanatics and can be found watching football (GO Illini! GO KC Chiefs!), hockey (Go Blackhawks and Wolves!), and baseball (too contraversial in Chicago!). We also enjoy the zoo and anything else out of doors.
My mommy strategy . . .
I find that getting time for my activities and quiet time helps me to be a better mom (even if I have to do it at 4AM!). Moxie Moms and Stroller Fitness has helped me to build a great group of friends that serve as an incredible support system I find invaluable. I try to treat my kids like smaller people, rather than "just children". We have great conversations considering they're three and a half and not quite one!
Before I was a mom . . .
Before I was a Mom I worked in the fitness industry. I managed health clubs, corporate fitness centers, and even designed new fitness facilities. I taught cycling, kick-boxing, aerobic dance, resistance classes, step, hip-hop, etc. I also personal trained and trained group exercise instructors and personal trainers.
Prior to working, I graduated from the University of Illinois with a major of Kinesiology / Exercise Physiology. Prior to college I was actually raised in the Plainfield / Naperville area (unheard of, I know!).
